It’s a difficult shift
of treatment for your child; from being your baby who gets away
with almost everything to someone who has to observe certain house
rules and regulations.
It is definitely challenging but not impossible. Your child will
obey the dos and don’ts at home with the help of some of these
tips.
1. Let them know what they should do and not do at home. Just like
any policy, you have to inform your child what he should avoid.
Make sure that he understands it.
You can use his toys to get your message
through. Use his kids
kitchen toys set to show him the utensils at home that he cannot
play with. You can also say to him that his toys are different from
the real materials. He can’t play with knives or objects with
hot surfaces because there is a tendency that he will hurt get hurt.
2. You can use the reward and punishment system as well. But don’t
be harsh to your child; after all, he is still a young child. Observe
if he is following your instructions. If not, you can impose certain
punishments. You can tell him that he cannot play with his kitchen
toys. Or you can stop serving his favorite dessert for a while.
3. Communicate to them, this involves talking and listening. Tell
him why you are punishing him. Ask him how he feels about his punishment.
You can also make him promise you that he will not disobey the rules
again. The wooden
toy kitchen set can be a good example. Show him what can happen
to his toys if he doesn’t keep it after use. It may be damaged
because he did not follow what you told him. Being punished is never
a good feeling and your child may feel that he is deprived but you
have to be firm. This will teach your child that his actions has
there consequences.
4. Set a good example. If you ask your child not to play with certain
things, keep it out of their reach. Give him the impression that
those things are not toys. In terms of organizing his things, you
to show him that your things are organized too. If you want your
child to organize his kitchen
play set, organize your kitchen as well.
5. Make sure that your child continues to follow your rules. If
he defies your instructions, find out why he does that. He may have
other issues concerning your approaches. You might need to reassess
the way you have been treating the whole thing. Evaluate yourself,
are you too strict and that pushes your child to rebel.
Although you have to be firm, remind yourself
to be gentle. Kids have a different perspective. Always make him
understand why you are unhappy with his mischief. If the play kitchen
set example does not work, tell him about more realistic cases.
If your child learns to follow instructions at home, he can definitely
be trusted to follow the laws of the real world. Teaching your child
to follow house rules takes time but you have to be patient because
it will have a great effect on his behavior in the future.
